Our Governors

We have link governors associated with college from both of our schools – Fox Wood School and Green Lane School.

They will visit the college to undertake learning walks, meet with the Head of 6th Form and/or college staff at least once a term, prior to the governors meetings in order to monitor progress towards the college development plan.

They will make clear to the full governing body their findings and ensure that they are made aware of any issues that need to be addressed, any areas that are not progressing as planned and any areas where outstanding practice is taking place and needs to be recognised.

Jenny Southward

Governor

Jenny was a Secondary teacher for 20 years working within Technology Department and was pastoral head for Years 10 and 11 before starting work at Loushers Lane in 1991 where she worked for 14 years. She kept her link with Loushers Lane and then Fox Wood School.

Jenny became a teacher governor while working at Fox Wood School and then continued as a LA governor after retirement leading to the role of vice chairperson. She has had an active role in the development of the Woolston Learning Village site and is the link governor to the 6th Form from Fox Wood School. She has provided excellent support to both staff and students over her many years of governorship.

Isobel Renshaw

Governor

Isobel is a baker & confectioner by trade and is mum to one of our past students. She has been a governor at Green Lane School for 12 years and has had links to all key stages through school. She is a very proactive and was heavily involved with the development of the post 16 provision at Green Lane School and the move to Woolston 6th Form College. She believes that our young people can do more and wants to see them achieving the best that they can and this drives her forward in her support for us. She was instrumental in setting up the SEN youth club based here at college and volunteers there to ‘give something back’ for all the support she received over the years.
