Woolston 6th Form College educates and supports students aged sixteen to nineteen years old who have a range of additional needs including severe learning difficulties, complex learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties.
We offer a 38 week academic year, providing a full timetable Monday to Friday from 9am—3:15pm. Our students come from Green Lane School, Fox Wood School and other schools within Warrington.
Our vision for college is to nurture and develop students’ potential and prepare them for life and potential employment. To do this we offer a range of accredited courses from Open Awards, OCR and AQA in functional skills, life skills and work skills. All students also participate in creative sessions, sport & leisure sessions and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme all of which incorporate community learning.
A full work experience programme is designed around the interests of students and this links with the curriculum to help our students achieve their aims and targets with as much independence as possible.
On a personal note, I am enormously proud to be part of the continued development of our college. It is a privilege to work with all the students, parents, staff and governors. For me the success of the college is derived from a very enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff. We have the upmost commitment to providing the highest quality provision for all of our students and work together in a supportive, caring community atmosphere.
We welcome visits to our college, or if you have any further questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01925 811447.
