Its been Food overload in Form 6 - not that we are complaining! As part of work towards our OCR accreditation we have been working closely with food.
Some students have been learning about food safety and storage. We have looked at which foods get stored in the fridge, freezer or cupboard and how to spot when food is good to eat. We have been finding sell by / use by dates on packaging and reinforcing this while out shopping.
Other students have had the fun job of making snacks for the group. We have made a range of different sandwiches and even a very healthy fruit salad. We had lots of fun handling, naming and preparing the foods.
And the reward for all our hard work... lots of yummy HANDMADE snacks!!
