Forest School

1st October 2019

This year Woolston College has started up a Forest School group during the creative curriculum morning.
So far we have spent time exploring unfamiliar environments as well as learning about birds. The students have taken part in sensory walks, listening out for birds as well as making a nest and making bird feeders.
This week our session focussed on the sense of smell. We spent time exploring the different scents within our woodland and communicating which we liked and which we didn't. We then made some woodland perfume by muddling our favourite items with some water to release the aromas!
We also use the sessions to promote physical activity and fitness as well as supporting mental health and wellbeing. The students are absolutely loving it!
